Believe it or not I am back writing another article. Despite all the warnings, threats and curses, I keep on receiving after my endorsement of Buhari/Osinbajo ticket. With sadness in my heart, I will have to concede that the words of George Orwell can be said of our Nigerian Christian community today.

I see so much hatred, just because as a Pastor I took a position that does not agree with what majority of my brethren think to be right. But alas, this is a sign that our society and indeed our Christian community is in fact drifting from truth. When that happens, people hate those who try to speak the truth to them.
HAVE NO DOUBT ABOUT IT, I AM GOING TO DO WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE, NO NEGOTIATIONS, AND NO COMPROMISES. NOBODY COMPROMISES THE TRUTH AND WINS. BUT ONE PERSON ON THE SIDE OF TRUTH IS A MAJORITY. YOU CAN NEVER LOSE BY BEING ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUTH. YOU ONLY WIN WITH TRUTH ON YOUR SIDE.

From the comments I have read so far, many of my followers are claiming that my Facebook account has been hacked,that they are sure this is not Pastor Sunday writing. Please let me make it official that nobody has hacked my account. This is my account and everything posted here is been done by me personally and by my assistants.
The position I have taken on the Nigerian presidential election is not an unthoughtful decision or step. As a matter of fact, only God knows how much loses I am enduring as a result. Yet on the other hand, some people claim that maybe I have been paid off by Gen.Buhari or Prof. Osinbajo.
LET ME TELL YOU PLAIN AND DIRECT, THAT EVEN MY OLD FRIEND PROF. OSINBAJO DID NOT KNOW ABOUT WHAT I AM DOING. IN FACT, I HAVE NOT SEEN OR SPOKEN TO HIM IN THE PAST 6 YEARS TALKLESS OF GEN. BUHARI THAT I HAVE NEVER MET OR SEEN. AS A MATTER OF FACT I DON’T REALLY CARE IF THIS TICKET WINS OR NOT, I JUST KNOW I MUST DO WHAT I MUST DO. LIKE I SAID IN MY ENDORSEMENT, I AM ACTUALLY MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE NIGERIAN CHURCH THAN THE PRESENT POLITICAL PROCESS. EVEN THOUGH I AM CERTAIN THAT THIS TICKET IS A ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY FOR NIGERIA TO BE SALVAGED AS A NATION FROM IMMINENT SELF-DESTRUCTION.

No, they realised that they had an obligation for the society they were living in as well. Besides, it is God's mandate for his servants to give direction to God's people.

I hope these points satisfy those zealous Christians who are trying to make all pastors stay behind the pulpit and "mind their own business".
SOME PEOPLE SAY JUST PREACH THE GOSPEL. WELL, WHAT GOSPEL IS BETTER THAN ENLIGHTENING PEOPLE? THE GOSPEL ITSELF IS THE MESSAGE OF LIGHT. THE GOSPEL IS ABOUT DIFFUSING DARKNESS AND BRINGING ILLUMINATION. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM DOING. I’M SET ON A JOURNEY TO DISSIPATE THE POLITICAL IGNORANCE IN MY NATION AND BRING DELIVERANCE BY UNDERSTANDING.
Others are wondering, how I could be defending the interest of Muslim Nigerians, am I not a pastor? Some even go to the extent of calling me a fake pastor. Well I will borrow wisdom from the words of Malcom X
‘’I AM FOR THE TRUTH NO MATTER WHO TELLS IT, I AM FOR JUSTICE NO MATTER WHO IT IS FOR OR AGAINST’’.
I am certain that this is what Jesus stood for. He stood for what is right at all times, no matter the cost. A good number of my fellow Christians keep on writing me that they don’t wish to hear my opinion or anybody’s opinion nor the facts. They insist that I only tell them what God is saying on who is going to win the election. In other words, we don’t need the service of our minds. We want a quick fix solution. "tell us what God is saying and that is all that matters." I’m sorry friends, but I suppose God gave us a brain for a reason. Martin Luther King Jr. puts the situation with the Nigerian church perfectly when he says:
‘’ Rarely do we find men willing to engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think’’.
READING MOST OF THE CHRISTIAN COMMENTS ON MY ARTICLE, I AM FORCED TO CONCEDE THAT MANY CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA HAVE DECIDED TO PACK THEIR BRAINS IN THE CAR PARK TOGETHER WITH THEIR CARS, SUSPENDING THE USE OF THEIR MINDS AS LONG AS THEY ARE CHURCH MEMBERS. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT ALL WE ARE LEFT WITH NOW IS; EMOTIONS, BLIND FAITH, SENTIMENTS AND PURE BIGOTRY.
I’m afraid that most people in our churches today are refusing to think. But without thinking we cannot understand the mind of God. Without thinking we cannot make progress on the earth. Because even to understand what God is saying in the spirit we still need the faculty of the mind. It is especially troubling that those who are telling me to keep quiet know other men of God who are also pastors of large churches who openly endorse the incumbent president. Nobody says it’s wrong to endorse the incumbent president, but when you endorse another candidate, then you are accused of venturing into politics.
What I have done is to simply present my facts. We must not allow Nigeria to keep on going down the drain the way it is presently going. It is our responsibility to stop the decline and reverse the degeneration of our nation. SINCE NIGERIA BELONGS TO GOD WE ALL HAVE A SAY IN OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS.

Dear friends, believe me for Christ sake that the world we see around us is simply a reflection of the world that we have shaped and erected in our minds. What we are calling the Islamic threat might not be as big as it is appearing to us, if we could only make the great commission as big within us, as we are making the Islamic threat to look today.
Fellow Nigerians we must get used to it that every Nigerian could have an opinion about what is going on in the country. Some people keep on telling me that we used to respect you but we don’t respect you anymore. Well it is your right, you are most welcome. It is not your liking or disliking me that made me who I am. It is because I am who I am that made you to even know me in the first place. If I had been the way you want me to be, then I would have been where you are, in your position, not where I am now. I became who I am not by listening to man’s opinion, but by listening to God and my conscience.
As I had earlier mentioned in my endorsement article, my writings are for those who recognise me as a leader. You don’t have to agree with me, just put forth your arguments.

I am sure many will say I have lost touch with reality, which might be so. But I am more in tune with the reality of God and I wish we are all more in tune with God’s agenda and kingdom reality, than we are about the Islamic agenda and Muslim proclamations.

Some comments that I have been reading these days don’t point to the fact that Christians are followers of the truth. The Bible says you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. We don’t seem to be free. We don’t seem to know the truth about our God, about His power and about His majesty. We don’t seem to know the truth that the earth and its fullness belongs to Him

We don’t act as if we know the truth that God is the one that rules and reigns in the affairs of men.
Indeed the Bible is so correct that people perish for lack of knowledge.

I SEE THAT WHAT IS MOSTLY DESTROYING THE NIGERIAN CHURCH, IS NOT ISLAMIC EXTREMISM AS WE ARE BEING MADE TO BELIEVE. RATHER IT IS OUR LACK OF FAITH. OUR IGNORANCE IS A BIGGER THREAT TO THE NIGERIAN CHURCH THAN ISLAM IS. IGNORANCE IS THE ONLY THING THAT COULD DESTROY THE CHURCH AND I SEE IGNORANCE WRITTEN IN BIG LETTERS ALL OVER THE NIGERIAN CHURCH.
I am sure that some of my submissions here will draw more hate comments from my so called brothers and sisters. I therefore welcome more of those hateful comments from as many as would care to. I also want to say a big thank you to the remnant of the Nigerian Church, who are very understanding to what I am trying to say in my write ups. It is because of you that I still have hope and faith in our country Nigeria and that Christianity in our motherland, has a place and a future.
Reading through the comments, I noticed that what really bothers most people is the question of Islam and the probability of Gen.Buhari Islamising Nigeria.
THE TRAGEDY OF OUR BELOVED COUNTRY IS IN THE DELUSIONS OF RELIGION. RELIGION HAS COME TO REPLACE FAITH IN NIGERIA, SO MUCH THAT NOW IN NIGERIA, IN THE WORDS OF JONATHAN SWIFT “WE HAVE JUST ENOUGH RELIGION TO MAKE US HATE, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE US LOVE ONE ANOTHER.”
I think this is perfectly said about the state of the church in our country today. So much religion in Nigeria, yet so much intolerance, hate and anger. We indeed have so much religion just enough to make us hate each other, but unfortunately so little faith that could enable us to love one another - both Muslims and Christians.
JOHN 13:35.‘’BY THIS ALL WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES, IF YOU HAVE LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER.”
I will like to say everything that was said about Islam and the radical Muslims are well researched and excellently documented facts, which neither I nor anyone else will try to dispute. However, my dear Christians, I don’t see why many have chosen to reduce this presidential campaign to only the question of Islam and their agenda.
LET’S EVEN ASSUME THAT THE RADICAL ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISTS HAVE AN AGENDA TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA, WHY SHOULD WE BOTHER OURSELVES ABOUT THEIR AGENDA? DIDN’T JESUS GIVE US THE GREAT COMMISSION? IS THAT NOT AN AGENDA? WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT THAT AGENDA? ‘’DARKNESS CANNOT DRIVE OUT DARKNESS ONLY LIGHT CAN DO THAT: HATE CANNOT DRIVE OUT HATE ONLY LOVE CAN DO THAT ‘’ – MARTIN LUTHER KING
I believe that whatever the Muslims are doing should be used rather as achallenge for us Christians to get ourselves organised and put forth our own program of making Nigeria a Christian nation. If we would only use all the energy and resources we are now using to talk about what the Islamic fundamentalists are doing, to rather begin to organise Christians around a common goal, the result will surely be different.
Now, permit me to go into the crux of the matter. As usual I will like to present my arguments below in points. Why I believe the Nigerian Christians should stop the panic. And why I am certain Gen. Buhari is not going to Islamize Nigeria.
1.
Let’s assume we don’t elect Gen. Buhari come February 14th would we say that by 2019 we will not need to elect a Muslim anyway? You all know that because of the complexities of our country, there is no way only Christians will perpetually rule the nation without a civil war breaking out. Justice demands from us as Christians that sooner or later, one way or another, a northern Muslim will become president of this country, because they have the right. If it is not going to be Gen. Buhari, it is going to be someone else. Maybe a much more a fundamentalist than Gen Buhari. So sooner or later all those that are now clamouring against Muslims or Islamic presidency will be forced to support another Muslim candidate for president. The way forward for Nigeria can be seen in the words of Martin Luther king, "WE MUST LEARN TO LIVE TOGETHER AS BROTHERS OR WE WILL PERISH TOGETHER AS FOOLS"

Fellow Christians isn’t it obvious, that it’s only because Nigerians elected a Muslim president in the person of President Yar’ Adua that we got the opportunity to have a Christian in the person of President Goodluck Jonathan? Of course both Christians and Muslims voted in President Yar’ Adua with President Jonathan as his running mate. Only thanks to that choice, we now have our Christian president. So if Nigerian Christians once voted for a Muslim president just a few years ago, what has now changed? Do you know that in the real sense Yar’Adua might have been more a fundamentalist than Gen.Buhari according to some observers? So let’s stop all this talk about Gen. Buhari coming to Islamise Nigeria please!!!

I am appalled by the lack of foresight I witness in a lot of President Jonathans supporters. I am sure that by 2019 President Jonathan himself will be advocating for a Muslim president, even though no nobody knows who that person is going to be yet. But for sure President Jonathan’s candidate from the PDP in the 2019 election will be a Muslim from the north. Then what would the ardent Christian apologetics say? Those who are advocating for President Jonathan today will have to support his choice if they want to be faithful to him come 2019. Therefore, the same argument we are now using to elect President Jonathan that he is a Christian, will hold no water in the next 4 years. Either we like it or not, other Muslim presidents will emerge in Nigeria unless we want some kind of war. It is better for us Christians to simply admit that we would not always have Christian presidents in Nigeria. Let’s face it!!!

The question we should be raising is not about the faith of the president or any religious agenda for that matter. We should be more particular about building a civil society. If we build a society of supremacy of the law, then our constitution would rule supreme over and above every religious sentiment.

I am totally shocked to see the way Christians are panicking about the Islamic agenda.
It is as if, we have totally lost our faith.
It is as if, instead of faith, we now have fear.
It is as if, our God is dead.
It is as if, the god of the Muslims is super big, powerful and overwhelming.
This is the impression I’m having, observing the hysterics of Nigerian Christians.
PLEASE, YOU NIGERIAN CHRISTIANS, DON’T INSULT MY GOD LIKE THIS. HE THAT IS IN US IS GREATER THAN HE THAT IS THE WORLD. 1 JOHN 4:4."YOU ARE OF GOD, LITTLE CHILDREN, AND HAVE OVERCOME THEM, BECAUSE HE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD".
1JOHN 5:4. "FOR WHATEVER IS BORN OF GOD OVERCOMES THE WORLD. AND THIS IS THE VICTORY THAT HAS OVERCOME THE WORLD OUR FAITH".

WITH FEAR WE CAN ACHIEVE NOTHING, BUT BY FAITH WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS. JESUS SAID BE OF GOOD CHEER, FEAR NOT I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.
JOHN 16:33. ‘’THESE THINGS I HAVE SPOKEN TO YOU, THAT IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THE WORLD YOU WILLHAVE TRIBULATION; BUT BE OF GOOD CHEER, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.”
MARK 11:22-23.‘’SO JESUS ANSWERED AND SAID TO THEM, “HAVE FAITH IN GOD’’.
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says’’.
LET US DISCARD FEAR IN ALL ITS RAMIFICATIONS AND EMBRACE FAITH.
ISLAM WILL NOT OVERRUN NIGERIA.
NIGERIA WILL LIVE TO PRAISE AND WORSHIP THE LIVING GOD.

I see that many believers have done a lot of research on the Islamic agenda. I wonder if they have done so much work on Gods plans and purposes for Nigeria. I wonder if they have as much faith in the word of God and His promises as much as they have in those fearful agenda of the Muslim fundamentalists. Can you imagine how much energy these people have spent in making all that research? What if they spend that much energy, time in bringing together Christian leaders and resources to strategise to produce a Christian program; to make a proclamation for the Christianisation of Nigeria? Don’t you think that will be more rewarding?
PROVERBS 29:18‘’WHERE THERE IS NO VISION, THE PEOPLE PERISH…’’

Do you really believe it is practically possible to Islamise Nigeria right now? For that to happen, they will have to wipe out all the Christians in the country, in the government, in all the states, which is just impossible to imagine. It is just not going to happen. For that to happen they have to change the constitution which would demand two third of the votes from the two chambers of the Nigerian parliament and the state assemblies.
2 CORINTHIANS 10:4-5 ‘’FOR THE WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE ARE NOT CARNAL BUT MIGHTY IN GOD FOR PULLING DOWN STRONGHOLDS, CASTING DOWN ARGUMENTS AND EVERY HIGH THING THAT EXALTS ITSELF AGAINST THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, BRINGING EVERY THOUGHT INTO CAPTIVITY TO THE OBEDIENCE OF CHRIST’’.

No single individual can Islamise Nigeria, even if he is the president.The president does not take all the decisions in Nigeria. Apart from the president, we have the judiciary. We have the legislature. Then we have the states. We have the state legislatures. It is impossible for one man to even undertake such an assignment talk less of fulfilling it.
PROVERBS 21:30 ‘’THERE IS NO WISDOM, NO INSIGHT, NO PLANTHAT CAN SUCCEED AGAINST THE LORD’’.

Even if Gen.Buhari is a fundamental Islamist, he still cannot Islamise Nigeria. In the past, we have had stronger individuals than him who were much more radical than he is and yet they could not Islamise Nigeria. One of them is former Sultan of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello. He was a completely devoted Muslim with an Islamic agenda, but God's hand is so strong on Nigeria that even he could not carry out that plan. As diabolical as Gen. Sani Abacha was in the eyes of many Nigerians, even he could not do it. Both of these people died tragically in office. DO YOU ALL THINK THE GOD WHO WAS IN CONTROL OVER THOSE SITUATIONS HAS SUDDENLY LOST CONTROL NOW? COME ON, FELLOW CHRISTIANS LET’S STOP THE PANIC!!!
LAMENTATION 3:37 ‘’WHO IS HE WHO SPEAKS AND IT COMES TO PASS,WHEN THE LORD HAS NOT COMMANDED IT?’’

I keep on reading the argument that just like Turkey was a Christian nation, Nigeria could be turned to a Muslim nation like Turkey is today. For people saying that, I want to say that argument is ludicrous. The circumstances are completely different. First of all, that was in the dark ages when there was no international community or coalition of nations. The world was so isolated back then, unlike the global village we have today. Nigeria cannot be Islamised by force, while the whole world stands idle.
Secondly, Turkey was turned to a Muslim country as a result of the jihadist war. Those types of territorial wars that happened in those days are no longer possible today, where we have nuclear weapons in Christian nations. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP CHRISTIANITY IN NIGERIA NO MATTER THE AGENDA THE MUSLIM FUNDAMENTALISTS MIGHT HAVE.
In this regard, we should not try to cite the Turkish example as confirmation of this fact.
ISAIAH 54:17 ‘’NO WEAPON THAT IS FORMED AGAINST THEE SHALL PROSPER; AND EVERY TONGUE THAT SHALL RISE AGAINST THEE IN JUDGMENT THOU SHALT CONDEMN. THIS IS THE HERITAGE OF THE SERVANTS OF THE LORD, AND THEIR RIGHTEOUSNESS IS OF ME, SAITH THE LORD’’.

Many Christians say that the Jihadists way of propagating Islam is what they are afraid of, that we spread our faith by peace, while Muslims spread their faith by violence. Yes to some extent that is true. Talking in respect of Turkey in particular, that is actually the way Turkey was overrun by the Muslim fundamentalist. We should however remember that what gave room to that Islamic triumph in Turkey is the Christian military crusade from Europe. In those dark ages both Christians and Muslims were fighting a religious war, which eventually led to Christians losing Turkey.
WITH THE RHETORICS COMING FROM THE CHRISTIAN CAMP THESE DAYS, IT IS LIKE WE ARE DRIVING OURSELVES BACK TO THE DARK AGES, TO THE AGE OF THE MILITARY CRUSADES WHICH WILL ACTUALLY BE THE ONLY REASON WHY WE COULD LOSE OUR NATION AND OUR FAITH.
JEREMIAH 23:32 "BEHOLD, I AM AGAINST THOSE WHO PROPHESY FALSE DREAMS," SAYS THE LORD, “AND TELL THEM, AND CAUSE MY PEOPLE TO ERR BY THEIR LIES AND BY THEIR RECKLESSNESS. YET I DID NOT SEND THEM OR COMMAND THEM; THEREFORE THEY SHALL NOT PROFIT THIS PEOPLE AT ALL,” SAYS THE LORD".

In response to my endorsement of Gen. Buhari, Christians from all over my beloved country on daily basis keep on bombarding my inbox with all sorts of documents, namely: evil Islamic plans for Nigeria, how Islam is taking over the world, Muslim leaders declare aim of world domination, unfolding agenda against Christianity in Nigeria etc. Please I am appealing to especially the leaders, stop the vile propaganda, and stop putting fear in people. The Lord has not given us the spirit of fear.
2 TIMOTHY1:7 ‘’FOR GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER AND OF LOVE AND OF A SOUND MIND’’.
My question to all these Christians is, what has this got to do with the 2015 election? If the only thing it’s got to do is the fact that Gen. Buhari is a Muslim, then does that mean that we will never have a Muslim president to rule the country again? What is the guarantee that, that particular Muslim who will rule later will not be more radical than Gen. Buhari? Islamic agenda should not have anything to do with elections, elections are being run by the constitution.

Talking about this so called Islamic agenda and documents against Christianity in Nigeria. As significant as that information is, that is supposed to be a message to the church. The church is supposed to get her acts together, it is a challenge to the church for us to do a similar thing.
IF THE MUSLIMS ARE HAVING AN AGENDA TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA, THEN THAT IS AN INDICTMENT ON THE CHURCH. THAT THE CHURCH IS NOT HAVING HER OWN PROGRAM TO CHRISTIANISE NIGERIA. IF THE MUSLIMS HAVE A 25 YEAR PLAN, WHERE IS THE CHURCH’S 25 YEAR PLAN?
Why should we be more concerned about another religion’s plans than we are concerned about our own plans? Let us be focused on establishing the kingdom of God on the earth instead of getting distracted by another religion’s agenda.
‘’AND I ALSO SAY TO YOU THAT YOU ARE PETER, AND ON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, AND THE GATES OF HADES SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT’’. MATTHEW 16:18
THE IGNORANCE OF THE CHURCH IS THE EMPOWERNMENT OF THE ENERMY!
Do we really believe that the gates of hell can overcome the church? I don’t!!!

As I stated in my earlier endorsement, Gen Buhari cannot be said to be a Muslim fundamentalist. The fruits of his life attest to the opposite. If he had been a Muslim fundamentalist like they say he is, answer the question my fellow Christians; why didn’t he Islamise Nigeria when he was the head of the military junta? How come everybody is believing that now as a democratically elected president he would be able to do it? I am sorry but this is a lazy argument. I think the Nigerian Christians should be more mature to think deeper than that. Unfortunately, I see that the Nigerian Christians have mainly refused to think for themselves. We Just swallow whatever we are told instead of been like the Berean Christians.

IN CONCLUSION, I KNOW THAT MY POSITION IS HIGHLY UNPOPULAR WITH MY FELLOW CHRISTIANS. HOWEVER, IN THE QUESTION OF TRUTH, I WOULD RATHER FOLLOW MY CONSCIENCE AND SCRIPTURES. EVEN THOUGH IT IS EASY TO STAND WITH THE CROWD, IT TAKES COURAGE TO STAND ALONE.

It is also true however, that one person on the side of truth is in the majority. It is simply not true that Gen. Buhari is going to Islamise Nigeria. The truth is, this is a political manipulation. The truth is, only the church can tackle the Islamic agenda for Nigeria, we shouldn’t bring politics into this.
The truth is, the Nigerian church has to put its house in order.
ONE OF MY MAIN GOALS OF WRITING THESE ARTICLES IS TO HELP THE NIGERIAN CHURCH COME OUT OF IGNORANCE AND FEAR. IGNORANCE IS A SURE PATH TO SELF-DESTRUCTION. AS LONG AS THE NIGERIAN CHURCH REMAINS IN IGNORANCE, WE SHALL SURELY DIE FROM THE HANDS OF OUR ENEMIES- GOD FORBID!
FEAR IS LIVING IN DARKNESS, FEAR LEADS TO FRUSTRATION AND ANGER, AND ANGER WILL LEAD US TO HATE OUR ENEMIES RATHER THAN LOVE THEM. HATE LEADS TO SELF-AFFLICTION WHICH IS EQUAL TO DEATH. A HATER IS A MURDERER. HE KILLS TWO PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME. HE KILLS THE PERSON HE HATES AND HE KILLS HIMSELF. I SEE THIS TREND OF IGNORANCE, FEAR AND HATE IN THE NIGERIAN CHURCH. I MUST SPEAK OUT, SO THAT IT DOES NOT LEAD US TO SELF-DESTRUCTION AND EVENTUALLY TO DEATH.
